Art Placement offers a range of stone for hand carving. With several types of soapstone, alabaster, and chlorite, there are many colours to choose from. Stones are available in pre-cut pieces in a range of sizes. Each stone is uniquely patterned, cut and textured. Come in to see our current selection. Alabaster - Italian (White Crystal)

Our stones come from a reputable stone importer who guarantees they are free of hazardous compounds. Carving, filing, and sanding soapstone and other carving stones does produce fine particulate matter, which may cause irritation if inhaled, especially for those with pre-existing respiratory conditions. Soapstone can be carved safely, health concerns are generally linked to chronic exposure only. Appropriate safety equipment (eye protection, mask, etc.) is recommended. Power carving tools greatly increase the amount of dust produced. When using power tools to carve stone, additional caution and safety equipment is recommended. |
