Heather Cline & Edie Marshall: TOURIST/TURISTA, 7 days / 7 moments
Reception: Saturday, April 6, 2PM
April 6 - May 23
Art Placement is pleased to present a collaborative exhibition between gallery artist Heather Cline and guest artist Edie Marshall.

Cline and Marshall have maintained an ongoing dialogue within Regina's art community for many years, but this is their first collaborative project and exhibition. Featuring a total of 14 paintings, one from each artist for every day of the week, the works are based on photographs taken by Cline and Marshall on the same day at the exact same time, in two very different geographic locations: Tuscany and the interior of British Columbia. The structure of the project bridges Cline's interests in geography, narrative, and the history of travel painting, with Marshall's ongoing investigations into time-based documentation.

Heather Cline lives and works in Regina, Saskatchewan. Growing up in Saskatoon she completed her MFA at the University of Saskatchewan in 2001. Cline has worked in painting and mixed media, exploring narratives around place and personal history. Over the past 10 years she has been involved in a series of residency programs and public engagement across Canada, with solo exhibitions at the Robert McLaughlin Gallery (Oshawa, ON), the Mendel Art Gallery (Saskatoon), and regional exhibition centers throughout Saskatchewan. She has also conducted workshops and lectures on a variety of topics throughout North America. Cline’s work can be found in many public and private collections, including the Colart Collection, the Mendel Art Gallery and the Saskatchewan Legislature Building.

Edie Marshall is a Saskatchewan painter who is interested in the environment, the history and culture of the land. She completed a BFA at the University of Saskatchewan in 2004 with Great Distinction. She has work in public collections at the University of Saskatchewan and St. Thomas More Gallery in Saskatoon. Her work has been exhibited internationally and can be found in private collections in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Europe and Australia.
