Gregory Hardy: Close to the Heart
Reception: Saturday, May 12th, 2-4pm May 12th - June 7th, 2012 In a catalogue essay in 2009 for a Greg Hardy exhibition at the Kenderdine Gallery, University of Saskatchewan, Stephen Hutchings described Hardy's approach to painting as follows: ..."He starts with an idea while he is out in the world, with a sense of what might make an interesting painting. He sketches quick notations in a notebook, develops these sketches into drawings in his studio, and then with a brush, fashions them into large paintings re-worked over days, sometimes re-visited over months and re-worked again, until the image has been re-imagined into a stable presence".
