Exhibition Opportunity for Students

The Gallery / art placement inc. is planning a juried group show for the fall of 2007 focusing on senior art students and masters students from the University of Saskatchewan. Art Placement would like to provide students with the opportunity to show their work along side their peers in a professional gallery space and to provide the community a glimpse into a new generation of artists.

About The Gallery / art placement inc.

The Gallery / art placement inc. is a commercial art gallery centrally located in the Traveller’s Block Annex in downtown Saskatoon. The gallery’s primary emphasis is on senior and mid-career, Saskatchewan artists. The gallery presents a year-round exhibition schedule with alternating solo and group exhibitions of three-week durations.

Submissions

In order to submit your work for the student show, you must be a valid student entering your final year in Fall 2007 or a Masters degree student. You must be enrolled in an art or art history class at the time of the show.

To be considered for the show send us an email including your biography/CV, a brief artist statement and five JPEG images of your work. In the email please include a list of all works including the title, date, medium, size and price. Art works selected for the show must be available for sale. All work submitted will be juried by a committee who will take into account the aesthetic quality as well as any practical concerns for exhibiting the pieces (i.e. size).

The gallery will take 50% commission from all works sold
The artwork must be appropriate for the size of the gallery
The show dates are subject to change or cancellation due to number of participants
You must take care of transportation of all works to the gallery
All work will be handled with care by gallery staff
All work must be presentable or ready to hang
The opening reception is scheduled for Saturday, September 8 and all participants are ecouraged to attend

Deadline and Show dates

The deadline for submission is July 15th, 2007. If your work is chosen for the show you will be contacted by August 1st. The show dates are September 8th – 20th.
Submit works by email to gallery@artplacement.com with ‘Student Show’ in the title.
