Derwent Graphic and Sketching Pencils

The first pencils ever made were produced in Keswick, England following the discovery of Cumberland Graphite, a graphite which is considered unique due to its volcanic origin. Throughout the 1550's a small cottage industry developed in Cumberland, which became the origin of the pencil industry.
